Faith and Fear: The Shared Path of Belief and Doubt

Ego Vs Intuition

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”

Let’s Talk About the Ego

What I’m sharing is based on what I’ve lived, what I’ve observed, and what has been revealed to me through working with many people’s energy. This is hands-on experience. I’ve read, researched, and more than anything, I’ve listened. And what I’ve seen over and over again, reflected across many spiritual and religious texts, is that knowing the difference between ego and spirit isn’t just helpful, it’s necessary for living in alignment.

I’ve been picking up on energy since I was a child. I’ve always had a deep knowing, long before I had language for what I was sensing. Over time, I began to understand that knowing as spiritual discernment. I’ve observed patterns in people, in relationships, in situations, and in all of it, the ego is usually what makes things chaotic, confused, or delayed.

Where Psychology Stops and Spirit Begins

I know psychology has its place. It gives language to patterns and helps people understand trauma, emotion, and behavior. But psychology often misses the point that the human spirit and the mind are deeply intertwined. It rarely acknowledges the spiritual component of the human experience, even though the mental and spiritual are constantly influencing one another.

That’s where I walk in. The work I do honors both: the reality of the mind and the truth of the spirit.

Ego’s Role in Human Nature

Every day, we are moving between ego and spirit. The ego is part of being human. It’s our protective mechanism, our flesh, our impulse to defend and control. But ego should not be driving your life. It has a place, but that place is not the lead. When you walk with God, you are led by spirit, not by fear, not by pride, not by anxiety or control.

The ego is reactive. It’s easily offended. It clings to validation. It wants answers now. It wants comfort at all costs. It wants control, even when control is the very thing blocking your peace. Ego is not rooted in truth,it’s rooted in fear.

The spirit, on the other hand, is steady. It knows. It doesn’t panic. It doesn’t force. It leads from clarity, not chaos. It’s why people say intuition is quiet, because your spirit doesn’t have to shout to be true. But your ego will. Every time.

The ego will dress itself up like strength, but it’s actually fear in disguise. It’ll tell you that you’re protecting yourself, when really you’re just avoiding surrender. It’ll make you feel powerful in the moment, then leave you disconnected from your peace.

We live in a world that teaches people to build up their ego, but rarely do we talk about building up the spirit.

Choosing Intuition Over Ego

Your intuition is the language of your spirit. It’s how God speaks to you. It’s how your higher self nudges you. Intuition is still, grounded, and aligned. It will challenge you,but it will never confuse you. It may push you to grow, but it will never lead you into chaos.

Ego, on the other hand, will always create noise. It’s the part of you that wants answers without effort. It wants timelines, control, validation, and emotional safety all at once. But walking in truth means choosing to trust the path, even when you don’t see every step.

This is why it’s so important to learn what voice is speaking. Not every fear is a warning. Not every urge is intuitive. And not every voice in your head is spirit-led.

You don’t need to erase your ego. But you do need to stop letting it lead.
